This Residence showcases how various interior selections can have a significant effect on the function and atmosphere of an interior. The client’s brief was to add warmth, colour, comfort and inject adornment and interest to the spaces. It now exudes a layered, tactile, and timeless sophistication.
This spacious residence expanding over 4 levels was beautifully designed and detailed by the architects but lacked much needed texture and colour which was important to my clients. With a keen interest in design and detail, the clients were involved in every decision. The spaces were generous and furniture placement was crucial to the success of a more connected generous living environment. With a global perspective we set out to create contemporary spaces, cohesively curating objects and mixing soft furnishings, artwork, rugs, lighting alongside existing items.
Custom wool and silk rugs were designed with colours ranging from greens, purples, taupes, browns, golds in varying organic shapes. The Kevin Reilly Altar candle pendant above the kitchen area, literally glows with warmth day and night. Existing furniture, along with antiques, were carefully blended with new additional pieces of furniture and from bronze tables to custom made elegant sofas/armchairs and these sit seamlessly side by side to create a timeless sophistication.
